Katharine, you are now getting to record your fourth studio album. Congratulations.
This is a wonderful opportunity for you. It sounds like you may finally be finding who you are as a recording artist.
I would like to provide some unsolicited advice. I'm no expert, and what I have to say may be complete garbage, but please do consider these thoughts, as I have been following you closely since you wowed us with God Bless the Child.
I want that katharine mcphee for this next album. I don't care whether you hit every note, I want you to perform your unique style of pop, soul, blues. You are a brilliant interpretor with terrific instincts.
Girl, do not be scared!
Take the chances you did as a young, inexperienced singer. Be unrestrained. You have every right to occupy the same stage an Aretha Franklin does. I'm not saying you have to be anything like her, you have to just be Katharine McPhee and there's no doubt there's some of her in you.
Record this album like you would if you knew it was the last you'd ever do. Leave nothing on the table and no regrets. Show the world what you can do. Have fun with your vocals, and the music. Be unrestrained. Go wild and be yourself.
You don't take sh!t from nobody. Reveal that side in this album. Show your fierceness. Show you are not a woman to be messed with. We know you can bring the 'tude when attacked, make sure the people know that after hearing this album!
Forget everything you learned in the record business. Be that young, naive girl who had a style that was "katharine mcphee". Who sang and knew what she liked and it wasn't that complex. Sometimes more is more. Don't be scared. There won't be any problem a recording studio can't fix!
Show who you are. We all know it is who you are. Now is your time to reveal that and shine. Remember, Katharine, you are the baddest woman on the planet. There isn't anything you can't do!
