Personally, i really wouldn't want Kat to take it. Itd be much harder to break the "Idol" image that way.

But if JLo quits before the new season, they need the judges for the auditions in the summer, in November or December for Hollywood Week, and I think in January for the additional eliminations to get to the final 24 or so. Kat would still be filming Smash. Plus, as said earlier, they would never pick her as she hasn't had huge success.It wouldnt be until next year

I think Kat has more hits than Demi. Even Selena Gomez is bigger career wise than her, my guess is Simon will fire Demi during the auditions like Sheryl Cole last yearand that 'disney star' has become a huge pop star with a gigantic following

If you mean her first album, it was a modest success and only had one moderate hit. She's not a "huge" success yet, especially in the music industry. Whether she's a big success or not, judging for Idol would be a thankless task right now, given her small number of years in the music industry without anything more than a moderate hit. I don't know why you think this would be even remotely a good idea right now. I normally would love to see Kat do something as high-profile as Idol, but given that so many hated her after her time on the show, that would probably start up again, plus several judges, include Kara DioGuardi, had so much crap said about them, that judging Idol is not worth it.

She did have some success with "Don't Forget" and "Skyscraper" actually on second thought, your assessment is a bit harsh considering she's had a number one album, and all of her albums have debut in the top 5. I know she's had at least one top ten hit so I think you're being a bit harsh.

no she hasn't? "skyscraper" debuted at #10 based on iTunes sales and luck then immediately fell right after. it wasn't a hit.damn. lol. don't forget sold what, 600k copies? and debuted at #2 with 89k copies sold. her "success" is extremely questionable and most people wouldn't know who she is if it wasn't for the fact that she cut herself, punched some chick in Peru and joined rehab all in one month. it's not harsh, it's the truth lbr.

lol c-zurr she's had two top 10 ten hits and three top 5 albums, (5 top 5 albums if you count the two Camp Rock soundtracks) you can't chalk that all up to luck, she's not a world superstar, but she's had some success and you can't really call her music career a flop.

Kat did Shark Night 3D. Not like she is struggling now, but if the money was there, I think she'd be more open to it than most are thinking. It is good exposure, because America gets to see your personality.
