They should. Radio would eat it up. Thoughts?
Oh, and lets tweet some Columbia people; maybe they can answer our question...

Can you tell me how?

Can you tell me how?

A+B=C
Let A= Professionals of music management
Let B= Sending songs with immense potential to radio
Let C= Career boost for Katharine McPhee
A is not equal to B, therefore the end result of C can not occur.
Explanation:
Sending Touch Me to radio would be a logical move on Smash's/Kat's label (whom ever is in charge of it) part. History has shown that Kat does not work with logically sound "professionals," as they disregard potentinal in her music (See Terrified for further research). Therefore, Touch Me will not be sent to radio.

Besides its Christmas songs, have any Glee songs been sent to radio? They probably don't need to though since the albums generally sell well.

And now with Touch Me, its one of the highest (if not the highest) downloaded off of the soundtrack. It just seems to make sense that by releasing it to radio, it can only help Kat AND Smash.
I'm sorry, but to me, this radio thing is not that big of a deal, ESPECIALLY when there is clear interest in the song, and that is not just including the fan base. However, Dalki was right when she said maybe the song was just meant for the show and nothing more. Idk.

Glee only does covers though. They had two (crappy) original songs last year though, but those weren't really radio friendly. No they won't. They never said they would, even if it would make sense to help promote the album.

Glee has had quite a few original songs, produced by Tedder & Max Martin I think? That were pretty current tbh. "Get It Right" being one of them

Ummm...they only had the two that they did at regionals last season though?? Loser Like Me and that Rachel ballad. And then that one at the finale at Nationals, which I forgot about, the one that had Finn and Rachel making it on stage.Glee has had quite a few original songs, produced by Tedder & Max Martin I think? It's shame to see this song go to waste and peak in the 60s on Itunes. Radio could've made it a legit summer hit.
This.
It didn't even reach Top 50 on iTunes. And it's annoying cos we know that if this was sent to radio, this could easily be a hit.

it lost steam from not being released right after the episode. they certainly didnt strike the iron while it was hot.

Just Breathe, it costs money to send a song to radio (and probably a lot of money for pop and Hot AC) and maybe Columbia doesn't think it's worth the expense given the return they've gotten so far on the Smash songs. And as far as Terrified went, I think Verve looked into releasing it to radio but it wasn't selling at a pace that interested the Hot AC and Pop radio people. Verve was a tiny label and Hot AC and Pop radio doesn't care about small and independent labels unless a song is selling really well (probably a substantial amount) on its own.
If there's no such thing as payola what exactly are the expenses involved in releasing a single to radio?

Promotion, schmoozing the radio stations, promotional help. "Payola" without the actual wads of cash being given. If there's no such thing as payola what exactly are the expenses involved in releasing a single to radio?
And it's likely they never intended to send a single to radio, no matter how the music sold, but the low sales probably didn't help.

Not all labels are radio-centric, especially small labels. And small labels tend to get ignored by the radio guys on Hot AC and Pop.Personally, I wouldn't sign an artist if I didn't have the $ to send his or her music to radio.
