Final ratings for ep 12: Demo 2.0, total viewers 6.01 million

3 more eps left...I gotta finish what I started.

Gonna go with 5.5 - 6 mill, 1.9 demo.

Oh. I forgot this week it was repeats and that DWTS special. Err. We are almost getting to the finale so shouldn't these last few episodes stay flat or increase? I thought that's what usually happens.

But yea, I changed my vote for 5.5-6. I refuse to vote for 1.9, tho.

H50 is doing a special cross-over episode with NCIS, so that could hurt Smash some in the ratings. 6+ and a 2.0 this week would be a win.

I don't think H50 has an audience in common with Smash, so I'm not sure it will make a difference other than Smash won't be #1 at 10pm.

From what tvbythenumbers says, the Spring effect on ratings keeps happening until the season finales and then there's likely a bump up. It depends on the show though as some shows manage to rise while others hit lows or stay steady.

ABC danced its way to another overnight Monday victory with a first-place finish in each of the six half-hours care of its combination of Dancing With the Stars (11.8 rating/18 from 8-10 p.m.) and Castle (7.9/13 at 10 p.m.). Head-to-head, Dancing With the Stars almost doubled The Voice on NBC (6.0/ 9 from 8-10 p.m.) in the overnights. But The Voice will hold a noticeable advantage among adults 18-49, and Dancing With the Stars dipped by 20 percent from one year earlier (versus a 14.8/22 on 5/02/11). The Voice, in contrast, built from year-ago occupants Chuck (2.9/ 4 on 5/02/11) and The Event (2.8/ 4) by 111 percent.

At 10 p.m., Smash on NBC finished third with a series-low 4.1/ 7 in the overnights. While that did outdeliver year-ago occupant Law & Order: Los Angeles (#3: 3.4/ 5) by 21 percent, retention out of the 9:30 p.m. portion of The Voice was lacking at 68 percent.

Last week, Smash's early numbers were 4.4/7 so definitely down this week (and the Voice last week was 6.2/10), but we won't know real numbers until TVBTN posts.

And I don't know why Marc Berman thinks 68% retention is lacking. That's actually pretty good for Smash.

Voice, DWTS, and Bones hit series or season lows as well, so it's not just Smash. It's the damned Spring ratings doldrums. Strangely, Castle was up 14%.

If we keep dropping, It'll bother me... but next week is The Voice finale so the numbers should go up.. And then we have premiere of AGT as our lead-in... so we should be okay.

The ratings were so low that NONE of us predicted correctly.

A lot of viewers give shows somewhat of a fresh start on a new season... I do at least. It gives them a chance to jump back in without being completely lost!
