“Bombshell” Soundtrack is now available for Pre-order!
Although it won’t hit stores until February 12th, the “Bombshell” Soundtrack from ‘Smash’ is now available for pre-order! You can claim your copy from Amazon, NBC Universal, or iTunes. The album will include 22 original Marilyn Monroe-inspired tracks from both Season 1 and Season 2 of the show, with 8 of those featuring Katharine. Three brand new tracks (“Public Relations,” “Cut, Print… Moving On,” and “Our Little Secret”) come from the upcoming second season of ‘Smash’ and will be performed by Kat’s character, Karen Cartwright. ‘SMASH’ Cast Recording (Soundtrack) of “Bombshell” Announced!
One of the biggest announcements to come out of the ‘Smash’ TCA panel was that NBC/Columbia Records will be releasing a full-length ‘Bombshell’ Soundtrack on February 12th! The album will include 22 original songs written for the fictional Marilyn Monroe musical featured in the show. The music, written and composed by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, will come from both Season 1 and Season 2. Katharine, Megan Hilty, Christian Borle, and other cast members of ‘Smash’ are all featured on the record.
The cover art can be seen below and the track list is also as follows. Although we don’t know who performs every number as of yet, I have listed the ones that we do know.

Katharine McPhee & Jennifer Hudson take on Broadway!
If you haven’t known by now, you’ll be glad to find that Katharine and Jennifer Hudson will be performing a duet on SMASH season 2. A magnificent preview was shown to New Yorkers during “Broadway on Broadway” Sunday morning, September 9th. Presented by United Airlines and The New York Times, the event kicked off the 2012-2013 Broadway season with star performances from new shows and long-running Broadway favorites. Clip from Episode 9 of SMASH!
A new clip from the next upcoming episode of SMASH, entitled “Hell On Earth” which airs this coming Monday at 10 PM (9 CENTRAL) on NBC, has surfaced! In this hilarious sneak peek, Kat’s character Karen begins filming an international orange juice commercial — and realizes very few things are real in the industry today!
Preview of “Touch Me” number from SMASH!
In the next episode of SMASH, entitled “The Coup”, Katharine’s character Karen is enlisted by director Derek to steal Marilyn: the Musical from Tom and Julia and turn it toward another direction. Check out Kat’s sexy “Touch Me” number from the episode below that symbolizes Marilyn’s struggle with fame. The episode airs Monday at 10 PM (9 Central) on NBC.
NBC renews “SMASH” for Season 2!
Can’t get enough of Kat’s new hit series SMASH? Well, we have some fantastic news to celebrate this Thursday evening… SMASH will be returning for another season next year and has been officially renewed by NBC!
NBC has made its second scripted renewal, after Grimm, for the 2012-13 TV season, and the honor goes to the Monday-night musical drama Smash.
To date, Smash is averaging 7.7 million total viewers and a 2.6 demo rating, representing the network’s best tallies for a drama in both measures and improvements of 100 and 160 percent over the Peacock’s previous Mondays-at-10 average.
